About Me

I'm Adrian, a software engineer based in the Santa Barbara area. I have a Masters in Business Administration and a BA in Economics and Accounting. In my previous experience working at Sonos and Deckers Brands in their accounting department, I developed an interest in software engineering after building automated excel spreadsheets with formulas. This made me realize the most fulfilling part of my job was building the reports, learning new skills from google searches, and seeing the finished reports come to life. I decided to spend my evenings researching more about what software engineering was and also started a self learning software engineering quest. I made an account on codecademy and enrolled in their full stack course to test the waters. After several hours of completed coursework, I made a life changing decision to quit my stable job and enroll into App Academy’s highly competitive full stack coding program.

These past months, I learned the technologies required to build amazing apps and improved my collaboration and teamwork skills through the many pair programming projects I completed in the course. One of my favorite projects was a full stack app in which I cloned misterb&b, a lgbtq hotel accomodation website for travelers. The project was completed using React, Redux, Ruby on Rails, Javascript, and Postgress.
